- Goodnight Gorilla by Peggy Rathmann -is a great picture book with minimal reading. It allows you to make up your own story and little activities. My daughter loves this book, she has us read it almost every night before bedtime.
- How many kisses do you want Tonight? by Varsha Bajaj -This is such a lovely book as well as educational. As a busy parent we sometimes don't have a lot of time to sit with our child trough the day to interact and teach them. Its great when you can get two things done at the same time. This book involves numbers and animals which can allow your child to learn and get a great bedtime book
- Love You Forever by Robert Munsh - I love this book so much because it reads about a mother that cradles his growing son thru his life. Almost at the end the son does the same to his mom getting old with age and finishing the book it shows him doing the same for his daughter. I think that this is a great book to end the night and let your child go to sleep knowing that his/her own mom will be there for them as in the book. It is a lovely read and a great way to bond with your child before bedtime.
- Goodnight Moon by Margret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd - I believe this is a classic. I remember as a child reading this book. Just like goodnight gorilla this is a great book for an older child. You can easily set your child to sleep while saying goodnight to the world around you.
- Barn Dance by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault - Now for you who have older children and still love reading time before bed this is a great book. It will set them off on a wild dream about talking and dancing animals. This is about a little boy who cant seem to go to sleep but hears noise out in the barn. Out to explore he finds himself with all the barn animals having a barn dance. It is really a funny and imaginative book that your child will love.
